NoPa Program signed: CAPES, DAAD and GIZ sign MoU in presence of president Dilma and president Wulff05.05.2011
From left to right: Karl Ulrich Krammenschneider, Christian Wulff, Dilma Rousseff , Jorge Almeida Guimarães, Max Huber (Foto: DWIH) During the press conference of the two presidents, Dilma Rousseff and Christian Wulff on May 5th, 2011, held in the presidential palace in Brasilia, the President of CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nivel Superior), Jorge Almeida Guimarães, the DAAD President, Max Huber and the Director of the GIZ Brazil, Karl Ulrich Krammenschneider, signed a MoU on institutional partnership under the bilateral program “NoPa - New Partnerships". The NoPa program is funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and CAPES. It aims to strengthen university cooperation projects and the use of research results out of the two focal sectors of the German-Brazilian Development Cooperation " Sustainable Management and Protection of Tropical Forest" and "Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency".

Interested Brazilian and German researchers, as well as company and representatives of the public sector are invited to participate at the matchmaking events in Belém on "Sustainable Management and Protection of Tropical Forest" (02.-04.06.2011) and Rio de Janeiro on "Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency" (07.-09.06.2011).
