The German Research Institute for Food Chemistry (DFA) is a non-university research center based in Garching near Munich. Their research is of applied basic research in the subject associate of science in the field of food chemistry and food technology. The DFA is aiming to promote the science of Food Chemistry, ensuring public welfare and the maintenance and improvement of the quality of food.
Another task of the DFA is to aquire data on food constituents based on scientific publications, to evaluate these data and to publish them in regularly updated nutrition tables. Also, DFA is advising the German Government with respect to new bills and legislation. The DFA should act as a consultant regarding international legal applications.
